First, join Zach for a conversation with Michael Massing, the author of Fatal Discord: Erasmus, Luther and the Fight for the Western Mind. The book explores the enduring fault line in Western thinking between Christian humanism and evangelical Christianity. Massing describes how the introduction of new ways of reading the Bible set loose social and cultural forces that helped shatter the millennial unity of Christendom and whose echoes can still be heard today.

The free gathering will be held Wednesday, April 18, at 6pm in the Divinity Chapel, at Harvard Divinity School. The address is 14 Divinity Avenue, Cambridge, MA.

Then on April 25, Ministry of Ideas will host a talk with historian Joe E. Jeffreys (https://vimeo.com/joejeffreys) about the long and fascinating history of drag, from Greek and Elizabethan stage, to 19th century Vaudeville, to 1990's nightclubs to RuPaul's Drag Race and beyond. Jeffreys will be joined after the event by drag star Coco Peru to explore in more depth the cultural legacy of drag and how it is changing today.

This event is also free and open to the public. It's at Harvard's Sever Hall, 35 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA.
